Hello,
my name is Thomas and I'm completely new to LanDesk, so execuse me if I'm asking stupid questions.
I have to do an evaluation for patch management systems.
For testing purposes I've installed the LanDesk 9.5 Mgmt. suite on a MS Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter Edition with MS SQL Server 2008 R2 on the same machine.
There is no MS active direcory and there will be no AD in the future.
So the windows server 2008 is a workgroup machine and all the clients to be managed are workgroup clients too.
My first question, is this possible with LanDesk?
Second question, there is no DNS, DHCP. Everthing works with static ip adresses. Is this possible with LanDesk?
How does a client find its management point?
At the moment I've managed it to install the Standard Windows Embedded Configuration exe file on my clients (WES7 with EWF write filters), but i think they cannot finde the MP.
I can add them, but there is the "fail symbol", and i cannot do anything. I wanted to configure the Management Gateway, public name, public ip address and so on, but when I click test setting, an error occurs,
connection closed ssl/tls ....
Can anybody help me?
