Patch Management for Skype v5.9.0.115

Hi.

 

We have a 100% failure rate when trying to repair this vulnerability.

vulscan.log gives:

Command Interpreter running

Executing C:\Windows\System32\msiexec.exe /i "C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient\sdmcache\SkypeSetup_5.9.0.115.msi" STARTSKYPE=FALSE /quiet

ERROR: C:\Windows\System32\msiexec.exe /i "C:\Program Files (x86)\LANDesk\LDClient\sdmcache\SkypeSetup_5.9.0.115.msi" STARTSKYPE=FALSE /quiet returned a bad exit code (1638)

ERROR(EXECUTEFILE) Failed to run command  - 80004005

DownloadPatch ERROR: Failed to run commands (80004005).

 

Manually running the command that patch manager uses to install this update, results  in a window saying:

“Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel”

 

LANdesk needs to change the repair routine for this patch to uninstall any previous versions.

This could be quite challenging, I can imagine.

 

The exact same issue was wit the 5.9.0.114 version (http://community.landesk.com/support/message/77678#77678)
