Maintenance Window Behavior

LD 9.6

Question: If you have a maintenance window set for a strict time frame (12 hour window on one day of the month only). What happens if a machine is offline that whole day and checks back in the next day (outside of the maint. window). Will that machine try to patch (because it missed the maintenance window) or will it have to wait until the next maintenance window?
